Kenny's little hole in the web...

So one year down and another to go.

2011 was a pretty good one as far as good years go. I got a really sweet and loving lady on my arm, Katie and Becca are both growing up and maturing nicely. Katie turned 17 and Becca turned 14. I turned forty…sumber-nuth-entytwo…. Truck broke, I fixed it, ex's van broke, I fixed it, Lydia's car broke, I fixed it. Had an OUTSTANDING Christmas thanks in good part to my family sending such wonderful gifts to the girls and me and the rest in that I had someone special to share it with.

This year Katie will be driving. Because of her location, she hasn’t had access to the usual process of getting permitted and licensed to drive. This summer she’ll be going to driving class and getting all that done while she’s out of school. She’s also determined to get a part-time job. I told her, she may miss out on seeing family over the summer because of her getting a summer job. She didn’t like that, I don’t like that. But if she’s to learn about working and responsibility, … it ha’s got to happen. She’s old enough now to learn about working for money and appreciating what you earn; that getting a handout for support is never something to be proud of, or promote, EVER. Her uncle Paul sent her a dorm fridge for Christmas. Lydia and I got to take her shopping for her own groceries for the first time. It was very cool watching her fret about what to get now that she has refrigeration! She had her own money and everything. She’ll be 18 this year, un-friggin-believable …. She says she wants to go to Oglethorpe University, GA. 10 hours away!.

Becca is getting tall now, starting to grow into her more “adult” self. She is a happy kid. She wants us to put in an application to LSMSA for her. I’m all for it but she really needs to show us something, academically, this year for us to do that. And she will need to take the ACT’s this year. She’s wanting to learn to sew. My dad and Vickie got her a sewing machine and aunt Cindy got her a dressmakers mannequin. She can’t wait to get going.

I’ll be getting a new/used car/truck this year. The girls are simply too big to haul around in my extended cab S-10 anymore. The Van payments will be over after April and then the other loan shortly thereafter. Then I can get the car/truck. I hit 20 years in service in February. Still working on my Bachelors. Getting closer now. I only need about 35 more semester hours. Come summer this is going to be a good looking year. Going to try the Allegiant Air trip again this year. Still working on money to do it, but going to try… might be just me and Becca id Katie is working, maybe Lydia too?
