Girls

It has been raining all week-end so today being no school and no work for Martin Luther King Jr day was of course ... overcast and cold.

I took Becca window shopping to break the boredom. We actually needed to pick up a new school binder but we ended up looking at shoes too. Lots ... and lots ... of shoes. Becca tried on a $100 dollar pair of knee high, high heeled boots that she actually looked really good in. A few stores later and she had a pair of shoes in hand. We were looking for a pair she could wear at school other than her sneakers but they needed to have a heel strap and we couldn't find a pair she liked and had her size.

We settled on an open toe blue canvas job with a three inch heel. %80 off. That was so tiring but a lot of fun to watch her squeal and squeak at new shoes. I of course had box and little stocking sock duty.

I felt so macho....

Consider this

Just a random thought here.

Do you feel your level of happiness is dependent on what you feel you have been forced into?

Realize this, you are born perfect and free, and it is the expectations and pushing of everything (and everybody) after that point that tries to tell you who you are and what it will take to make you happy. You are born with everything in you that you will ever need. Do you think an acorn will somehow be able to sprout into an apple tree? The billboards, the ads, the movies, your friends, your boss, your teacher, your environment (liberties and freedoms), all try to tell you who you should be and what you need to be happy. More specifically, what you don't have, that if you only could attain, would make you happy. Isn't it funny that that something is always what "other people" have? All you need is everything you already have. Once you come to terms with the fact you are made of the same stuff that everything else is made of you may just realize that nobody is any better than you on any level.

Let go of what you think you need. Look around you and see who or what is trying to make you somebody other than who you are. Then smile at them, bless them, and start being you.

Jan 10

2010, as some of you may have been aware was not the smoothest year. Previous years were rougher but 2010 was the transitional year. It was hard to get through, but well worth the effort. It was a year of change for me and the girls; changes in situation and direction.
